From the bride:.
Matt and I are from the same home town, so we’ve actually known each other since high school. We ran in the same circles, even went to the same college, but never dated. After college, we both moved to Boston and ended up reconnecting while out with mutual friends one night in summer 2013. I don’t think either of us expected it to go anywhere, but we’ve essentially been inseparable ever since.
We both love to travel, and Matt proposed in Paris in January 2019. We immediately knew we wanted a destination wedding, and after playing around with a few locations we decided on New Orleans because of its vibrant culture, food, and music scene.
Once we started looking into New Orleans as a wedding destination, Race + Religious
really sealed the deal. The original house was built in the 1800s, and we loved its European charm and the eclectic decor throughout. There is something unique and noteworthy in every corner of Race + Religious
, and we wanted our guests to explore and experience that. Race + Religious
is gorgeous as is, so we kept the decor simple and classic throughout. My favorite decor moment was the flower installation Leaf + Petal
added to the bridge above the ceremony location—stunning!
