when I'm not photographing weddings I'm always still looking for the light. When we moved, the first thing I noticed was the way the morning light glowed on the porch and the way the evening sun streamed through the play room.forever creatively fulfilled and searching for the "good light".

I’ve started and restarted writing about this wedd

I’ve started and restarted writing about this wedding 20 times. Every time it just doesn’t feel like I’ve done it any justice, because for us it wasn’t just a wedding, it’s a story of the beginning of our family.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When our son was born, he came 6 weeks early in the middle of the night, 1000 miles from home. We had been tucked in the mountains of western NC and drove over an hour to the highest level NICU in Charlotte, NC. Two days later, I met Sarah. Sarah gave Wren his first bath, kept everything light and joyful despite the rawness of the last 48 hours. For two months we sat with Wren and Sarah would visit whenever we weren’t in her care.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Just over two years later, we were in Huntsville, Alabama capturing her wedding. Wren came too, unaware of how Sarah held his tiny hours old body and how in many ways, Sarah held me too for those two months.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
During the reception, Sarah’s dad gave a toast and explained the story of how we met Sarah and ended up with the beginnings of our new chapters entwined - the start of our family, and the wedding of Sarah and Matthew.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While on April 15th, 2024 I was crying tears of joy and anxiety and fear. June 27th, 2026 was tears of happiness and joy and how lucky we are that we were connected with this family and got to preserve these memories of their best day yet.
