J + J’s Grafton Inn wedding was a night to remember. Autumn in Vermont is always special. I love dreary, grey days in October to snuggle up inside. It’s the first time the wood stoves get lit, and sweaters come out. October has a surprise up it’s sleeve often, though. A crisp Saturday with crunchy leaves and warm sun, and that’s just what J + J had that day at Grafton.
Rewinding slightly to gush about the Grafton Inn. Having a Grafton Inn wedding is like renting an entire town for you and your loved ones to enjoy all to yourselves for the weekend. It may be the quaintest (is that a word? i’ve deemed it one if not…”by the power vested in me…”) most picturesque little spot for a wedding, maybe, ever.
I digress.
Let’s also say, I was slightly obsessed with J’s super simple yet gorgeously detailed Sarah Seven gown. I love pretty much anything that comes from Sarah Seven so it came at no surprise I loved this dress just as much. I used to work at a bridal shop and LOVED all the dresses. I’m not a fashion gal at all…but there’s something about the delicate detailing and seeing how excited everyone that came into the shop was that was infectious. Now, I’m always anxious to see what bride’s have chosen to wear.
The mismatched bridesmaids dresses also got my attention. They were all from Reformation and they all flowed seamlessly together. After I was in a wedding last summer and the bride had us all choose our own dresses, I totally think everyone with a bridal party should do so. I love that bridesmaids feel more comfortable in whatever they’re wearing, and can express a little bit of their personality.
Thank you again to the gorgeous, glowy, October light for making my job so easy.
