J + B | Coral Beach Club Bermuda Wedding – Part 3

Something Blue, Something Pucci: A Coral Beach Club Bermuda Wedding

If a wedding weekend could have a signature color, this one would be impossible to pin down to just one. Vibrant, layered, and soaked in the kind of joy that only Bermuda seems to produce, the Coral Beach Club Bermuda wedding of Joanie and Ben was a four-day celebration that unfolded like the world’s most glamorous fever dream. With the pink sand beaches of Bermuda as their backdrop and the bold, swirling motifs of Emilio Pucci as their muse, every detail of this Bermuda beach wedding was thoughtfully, lovingly, and rather brilliantly designed from the ground up.

But before we get to the day itself, it helps to know how Joanie and Ben found their way to the shores of Coral Beach Club in the first place.

How It All Began: A Ski Slope, a Lasagna, and a Dance Floor

Joanie, artist, designer, and founder of TwoJ Designs, and Ben, owner and chief officer at Goldfarb Properties, first crossed paths on Stratton Mountain in the winter of 2017. Two former Colorado residents, they recognized something kindred in each other immediately and spent the day chasing one another down the slopes with the easy competitiveness of people who are already, whether they know it yet or not, falling for each other. After a day on the mountain, Ben made his move in the most disarmingly charming way possible: he wooed Joanie with his classic homemade vegetable lasagna. Reader, it worked.

Life, however, had other plans for the timing of things. The two drifted apart before finding each other again that summer, this time on a dance floor out in East Hampton. One look across the room and the memory of that ski day came rushing back. They hit it off immediately, and by all accounts, have been having an absolute blast together ever since.

Setting the Scene: Why Coral Beach Club Bermuda

Few wedding venues in the world can rival the sheer natural drama of Coral Beach Club in Bermuda. Perched above the island’s famously pink sand beaches with the turquoise Atlantic stretching endlessly beyond, it is the kind of place that makes even seasoned destination wedding travelers stop mid-sentence and simply stare. For Joanie and Ben, it was the only setting that made sense for a wedding weekend as bold and beautiful as the one they had in mind.

Setting Sail: Thursday Evening Catamaran Cruise on the Zara

The festivities kicked off not on land, but on the water, because naturally, Bermuda demanded it. Guests boarded the Zara for a sunset catamaran cruise around the island’s impossibly turquoise coastline, the kind of evening where the light turns everything gold and strangers quickly become fast friends. With the breeze doing its best work and the Atlantic glittering in every direction, it was the perfect opening note for a Bermuda destination wedding weekend that had very big, very colorful, very Pucci-inspired plans.

Game On: Friday Morning Tennis Round Robin at Coral Beach Club

The morning after began with a tennis round robin that was exactly the kind of activity a Bermuda wedding weekend deserves. Competitive enough to be genuinely fun, relaxed enough that nobody took themselves too seriously, it was the sort of gathering where the score was largely beside the point. By the final set, the group had the easy, familiar energy of people who had known each other for years. Bermuda has a way of doing that.

Dinner by the Sea: The Rehearsal Dinner at Azura

As the day softened into evening, the weekend shifted into something altogether more romantic. The rehearsal dinner was held at Azura, right on the beach, where the sound of the waves provided all the ambiance anyone could possibly ask for. Good food, warm company, and the particular anticipation of knowing that tomorrow was the day made for an evening that was equal parts celebratory and tender. The Atlantic lapped quietly at the shore, the stars came out right on cue, and Friday night felt like its very own love letter to the weekend ahead.

“I Do” on the Pink Sand: The Ceremony at Coral Beach Club Bermuda

The ceremony took place on the beach at Coral Beach Club, where the soft pink sand met the kind of blue-green water that makes you wonder if you have simply imagined a color this good. There was no competing with a backdrop like that, and wisely, nobody tried. The setting did what Bermuda always does, it simply took everyone’s breath away and held it for the duration.

Follow the Dancers: Gombey Dancers and Cocktails on the Croquet Lawn

What happened next was pure, unbridled Bermudian joy. Rather than simply strolling to cocktail hour like civilized people, guests were swept up and carried along by the Gombey Dancers, whose dazzling costumes and infectious energy transformed a walk across the grounds into something closer to a parade. A very glamorous, rum punch scented parade. The procession wound its way to the Croquet Lawn, where steel pans were singing in the warm evening air and the drinks were cold and the mood was, to put it plainly, absolutely electric.

L-O-V-E: The Wedding Reception on the Terrace

As the stars began to appear, the party moved to the terrace, where Joanie and Ben took to the dance floor for their first dance to the utterly perfect, utterly timeless “L-O-V-E.” Cold fireworks followed, fizzing and sparkling over the terrace in a way that felt genuinely dreamy, before dinner and dancing took over and carried the night forward on a wave of pure celebration.

Pucci Disco: The Late Night Party on the Frozen Hut Terrace

Just when it seemed the evening had given everything it had, the night revealed it had been holding something back. The Pucci Disco party on the Frozen Hut Terrace brought everyone back down to the beach, barefoot and beaming, for a late night celebration beneath the stars that was bold, joyful, and completely on brand for a Bermuda wedding weekend that had never once done anything halfway.

The Art Behind the Wedding: Joanie and Joanie of TwoJ Designs

The Pucci inspiration that threaded its way through every corner of this Coral Beach Club Bermuda wedding did not happen by chance. It was the result of a deeply personal creative collaboration between Joanie the bride and Joanie her mother, two artists who share not only a name but a lifelong passion for painting and design.

Inspired by Emilio Pucci’s ethereal vintage floral motifs, the two Joanies designed and curated the entire visual world of the wedding from the ground up. The invitation suite, paper products, weekend and detail cards, signature cups and hats, cocktail napkins, two custom block print tablecloths, and a custom monogrammed linen napkin all bore their distinctive, joyful mark. The result was something rare in the world of Bermuda weddings: a completely seamless visual language, personal and polished in equal measure, that carried guests from the very first save the date all the way through to the last dance of the Pucci Disco.

What began as a labor of love for one very special Bermuda beach wedding has since grown into something larger. Joanie and Joanie went on to found TwoJ Designs, a creative venture dedicated to bringing that same one-of-a-kind, story-driven design sensibility to other brides and clients. From save the dates to custom tablecloths, the two J’s believe that every detail is an opportunity to tell a story, and if this wedding is any indication, they tell it beautifully.
